About Patrick
A witness to the World Trade Center attacks on 9/11 who cared for some of the victims, Patrick is a passionate advocate for peace in our time, interfaith cooperation, and spirituality in healthcare. He is the author of the award-winning book One Mountain, Many Paths and has been heard on radio stations across the country appearing on national television.
Prior to his career in healthcare, Patrick studied to become a Jesuit priest and completed the Ignatian 30-day silent retreat. He has studied Eastern Philosophy and meditation as well as completed a pilgrimage to India on a 75-day trip around the world.
As a public speaker, Patrick brings a unique mix of interfaith values, passion for peace & social justice, and teamwork based on over 14 years healthcare experience. A dynamic speaker who will inspire and empower your audience to be the change they want to see in the world, Patrick is a tireless advocate for peace in our time.
Born in Dallas, Texas to a bicultural and multifaith family, Patrick has long held an interest in spiritual diversity, psychology, and the bonds of community. He has traveled extensively throughout his life, staying with relatives in Mexico, living in India and France, and visiting England, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Spain, Italy, Thailand, and Singapore. His love for humanity, belief in God, and respect for other religious traditions led him to become a Freemason in the Grand Lodge of New York State in 2003. Patrick is currently a member of George Washington Lodge #285 in New York City, Highland Park Lodge #1150 Dallas, TX, and the Scottish Rite.
Patrick completed a Bachelor’s degree in psychology from Southern Methodist University in 1994, a Master’s and Doctorate degree in clinical psychology from the University of Connecticut in 1999, and a post-doctoral fellowship from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City in 2000. He has studied eastern philosophy and meditation and is fluent in Spanish.
Patrick holds a faculty appointment at NYU School of Medicine where he works as a psychologist. He is currently the President of a regional healthcare professional organization and lives in the New York City area with his wife and family.
